artist statement
I am a traditional artist, using the most normal tools of the trade: the pencil, the paper, and the pen. I have dabbled quite a bit in the realm of digital art, but I have always felt that my true calling has rested within the realms of traditional media. I have been drawing traditionally for the past 25 years, and working digitally for nearly 10.
I like the idea of showing off my original work to gain people’s interest in two things: my writing, as well as my artwork. I like to think that presenting as many characters in one image as possible is a way to grab a person’s attention. I also like to make things as colorful as I possibly can, as I have found that this often times works.
